Flowserve Corporation is one of the world’s leading providers of fluid motion and control products and services, which operate in more than 55 countries. It has entered into 5-years contract with Shell Australia to provide general maintenance services for Shell’s Prelude Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) facility, (which operates in a JV with INPEX Corporation) to produce natural gas from an offshore field in a remote area in Western Australia.
Flowserve will support Prelude from its Quick Response Centre (QRC) in Darwin (Australian’s Northern Territory capital), which has primarily serviced flow control valves and seals. QRC are dedicated maintenance, repair and manufacturing workshop facilities that provide customers with responsive, local support.
Flowserve has committed to expanding its capabilities to include maintenance and repair services for centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, heat exchangers, fans and blowers, hydraulic power units, and other related equipment.
This contract is a great opportunity also to create new position in the Darwin QRC. This agreement will enable Shell to increase its employment of local and indigenous people, leading them also to permanent work.
